Enrolling in the Interactive Media: Web Design was a transformative journey that deepened my understanding of front-end development and sparked a passion for creative coding. From mastering the fundamentals of coding to exploring the expansive realm of user experience, this course has been a catalyst in shaping my skill set. I learned a lot about technical proficiency in coding but also strengthened my ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical and meaningful user experiences.
This portfolio showcases the culmination of my learning journey, encompassing everything from HTML and CSS basics to the innovative use of API databases for creative data manipulation.
Throughout this project, I had the freedom to explore my creativity, drawing inspiration from a DIY collage aesthetic. The website design intentionally mirrors the chaotic yet intentional nature of a personal space, resembling items scattered from a purse. To achieve an authentic texture, I hand-scanned objects found around my house. Each item holds a symbolic meaning, carefully chosen to represent specific assignments and concepts learned during the course.
Going beyond conventional scrolling and clicking experiences, the goal of the website was to provide users with a unique and engaging journey. The DIY collage aesthetic not only adds visual appeal but also serves as a medium to convey a personalized narrative to the audience.

The Infinite Doom Scroll
In crafting this concept, I explored a modern problem we're all familiar with – the dreaded "doom scroll." My mission was to rethink the ordinary scroll into an emotional experience. The website revolves around the notion of an infinite scroll that submerges the user with a plethora of disheartening news, gradually intensifying both visually and emotionally to deliberately overwhelm them.
Fueling the doom scroll is a dynamic integration with a global news API database, manipulated through JavaScript to curate and filter content. I incorporated my technical skills with a common online behavior into an interactive experience that resonates with the shared struggles of navigating today's news landscape.
